Gravesen za\u010dal svoji kari\u00e9ru profesion\u00e1ln\u00edho fotbalisty v rodn\u00e9m Velje v roce 1993. Zde p\u016fsobil \u010dty\u0159i sez\u00f3ny, b\u011bhem nich\u017e nastoupil za d\u00e1nsk\u00fd klub 80x, co\u017e mu v roce 1997 zajistilo anga\u017em\u00e1 v HSV. V N\u011bmecku se mu op\u011bt da\u0159\u00ed, a tak se zanedlouho st\u011bhuje na Britsk\u00e9 ostrovy. Gravesen p\u0159estoupil do Evertonu v l\u00e9t\u011b v roce 2000 za 2,5 milionu liber z Hamburgu SV. Na Goodison Park si ho p\u0159ivedl mana\u017eer Walter Smith, kter\u00fd o zarputil\u00e9ho fotbalistu moc st\u00e1l. Jak s\u00e1m Smith p\u0159iznal, sledoval Gravesena u\u017e od p\u016fsoben\u00ed v d\u00e1nsk\u00e9m Velje. Hr\u00e1\u010d s p\u0159ezd\u00edvkou Mad Dog (vztekl\u00fd pes) si ud\u011blal b\u011bhem sv\u00e9ho p\u016fsoben\u00ed v N\u011bmecku dobr\u00e9 jm\u00e9no, v\u017edy\u0165 renomovan\u00fd den\u00edk Kicker ho ozna\u010dil za jednoho z nejlep\u0161\u00edch cizinc\u016f hraj\u00edc\u00edch v t\u00e9 dob\u011b Bundesligu.<\/p>\n

Gravesen dal p\u0159ednost Evertonu t\u0159eba p\u0159ed slavn\u00fdm Bayernem Mnichov, \u010d\u00edm samoz\u0159ejm\u011b jeho popularita u fanou\u0161k\u016f hned stoupla. V Evertonu hr\u00e1l celkem p\u011bt sezon a a\u017e na p\u00e1r m\u00e9n\u011b \u00fasp\u011b\u0161n\u00fdch obdob\u00edch se celkov\u011b prezentoval velmi solidn\u011b. Ov\u0161em nejv\u00edce v pam\u011bti utkne jeho skv\u011bl\u00e1 sez\u00f3na 2004\/05. V tomto ro\u010dn\u00edku si Everton zajistil vstupenku do p\u0159edkola Ligy mistr\u016f a d\u00e1nsk\u00fd z\u00e1lo\u017en\u00edk v n\u00ed doslova z\u00e1\u0159il. Celkem odehr\u00e1l za EFC b\u011bhem sv\u00e9ho prvn\u00edho p\u016fsoben\u00ed v klubu 155 z\u00e1pas\u016f a vst\u0159elil 12 branek. Dobr\u00e9 v\u00fdkony v dresu Toffees zajistili Gravesenovi anga\u017em\u00e1 ve slavn\u00e9m Realu Madrid. D\u00e1n zde p\u0159estoupil v zim\u011b roku 2005 za stejnou \u010d\u00e1stku, za jakou do Evertonu p\u0159i\u0161el. V madridsk\u00e9m t\u00fdmu m\u011bl za \u00fakol nahradit Makeleleho, jen\u017ee moc tento \u00fakol nesplnil a i d\u00edky poty\u010dce se spoluhr\u00e1\u010dem rok a p\u016fl po sv\u00e9m p\u0159\u00edchodu do \u0160pan\u011blska klub opustil a p\u0159estoupil do Celticu.<\/p>\n

Zde mu ale p\u0161enka tak\u00e9 moc nekvete, a tak se v l\u00e9t\u011b 2007 vrac\u00ed na Goodison Park d\u00edky ro\u010dn\u00edmu hostov\u00e1n\u00ed, bohu\u017eel zran\u011bn\u00ed kolene mu toho moc odehr\u00e1t nedovol\u00ed. Po skon\u010den\u00ed hostov\u00e1n\u00ed se vrac\u00ed do Celticu, av\u0161ak mana\u017eer Gordon Strachan s n\u00edm ji\u017e nepo\u010d\u00edt\u00e1, a tak je v l\u00e9t\u011b propu\u0161t\u011bn.
